2017 Estate Pinot Noir
2017 was an unusual growing season in that depending on the week it could be cool and wet or hot and dry. The result is a hybrid between a cool vintage and a warm vintage that showcases the best of both. Smaller berries with thick skins yielded bold, deep color but with more brightness and fruitiness that you might expect after an August that was 15% warmer than usual.
The bright flavor of Oregon strawberries from the Dijon 777 is evident from the start and is joined mid-palate by ripe black cap blackberries courtesy of the Pommard. It has matured more quickly than most of our wines so after just two years in the bottle, it can be enjoyed immediately. But no need to rush as it will continue to improve for several years and be excellent for a decade.
