2015 “Willful” Pinot Noir
There was such an abundance of great fruit in 2015 we had the luxury of creating four unique blends. At the end of the barrel aging phase, we tasted each barrel and then I grouped them to make the blends. We wanted one of the blends to be a bright, casual wine for everyday enjoyment at a good price point. That blend was named “Willful,” named for our grandson, Will, for reasons you will understand if you ever meet him. Willful is 77% Dijon 777 aged entirely in neutral French oak barrels and was designed to be ready to drink as soon as it was bottled.
And it was. The red fruit highlights flash up front while the blackberry flavors linger in the background. As they have aged, Will and Willful have developed very pleasant, well-rounded personalities that are game for anything, anytime.
